Preflighting of Electronic files: ( top )
Our abilities to offer lightening fast turnaround times and inexpensive prices are predicated on the abilities of our clients to properly submit to us correctly preflighted electronic files for full color CMYK printing. Every one of our clients benefits, with faster turnaround and lower pricing, when our preflight guidelines are adhered to.

Does my PDF Proof 100% Guarantee that what I am seeing will print? ( top )
YES & NO. The PDF proof that you view is generally guaranteeing what is going to print. But, when clients use certain features of softwares that force different things to happen once a job gets ripped to plates for printing on press, then RomanPrinting.net cannot be held responsible for that change that is undetected by preflight checks that we take our client electronic files through. For instance, if you are working in Adobe InDesign, and you have "Overprint Fill" or "Overprint Stroke" checked for the color of white, then you will view the image as White knocked out of the background. But when the job RIPS to be plated for a Press run, the actual end result will be more of a blend of the color that is under it. EXAMPLE: If you have set in your design the words "FREE" knocked out of a red background to print white, and you have "Overprint Fill" or "Overprint Stroke," the actual end result when RIPPING the electronic file to be filmed or plated for running on press will be a screen of the color Red, thus making it a pinkish color blend and NOT WHITE.

The above example is not viewable on any PDF Proof or a Digital Printed Proof, but only becomes apparent after the fact, and is unavoidable.

So, we suggest that all clients thoroughly understand the ramifications of providing designs to RomanPrinting.net, and also understand the ramifications of making choices when using the individual software filters and how that choice can affect FINAL PRINT PRODUCTION OUTCOMES. Although we put client supplied files through a preflight checklist to alert us to the most common mistakes and pitfalls, there is no way to check the above type of client supplied errors, and WE CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE when this type of situation arises, when final print production does not match the approved PDF Proof. Although the above situations are rare, it does happen, so please take extra effort to understand your softwares pitfalls.

Colors may vary from monitor to monitor. If your job is color critical we suggest that you order an Iris High Quality Proof.

Marketing and Promotional Usage: ( top )
Anyone who uses the RomanPrinting.net website in any form, agrees to allow RomanPrinting the right to use any RomanPrinting.net produced material and printed product, in part or in whole, for promotional purposes in Printed Media, Internet, Audio and any form of Electronic use, as it is related to the RomanPrinting.net website and the RomanPrinting service.
If you do not desire to have your printed product featured, inform us in writing by sending a detailed explanation to Roman Printing. 21028 Hawthorne Blvd.,Torrance, California 90503.

CMYK Conversions From PMS (Pantone) Colors: ( top )
RomanPrinting.net reserves the right to convert all PMS (Pantone) colors, that are electronically submitted, to CMYK Colors. RomanPrinting, net is NOT responsible for notifying the client who submitted the electronic artwork of this change before converting from PMS to CMYK colors. It is assumed that when clients submit electronic files for print production in CMYK colors, that they will expect the final print product to be produced in CMYK colors. RomanPrinting.net can NOT convert CMYK colors to PMS colors under any circumstance.
When jobs are quoted in PMS colors to clients, and electronic files are submitted in CMYK colors, RomanPrinting.net will print the job in CMYK colors.

Design and Creative Work: ( top )
Art renderings, sketches, dummies, and all other creative work that has been developed or furnished by the provider must give written consent for all use of this work and for any deviation from its ideas or new ideas derived from it.

Do you offer Design & Creative Services? ( top )
ABSOLUTELY! We have a very dynamic creative staff who can bring your ideas and visions to life in full color printing design. Please view our Design Rate Chart for our low cost design service charges.

Can I order 2-color printing? ( top )
If you send us a 2 color project we will convert it to the 4-color process equivalents before printing. We are so efficient at producing 4-color work, that 2-color work is priced the same as 4-color work.

Ghosting: ( top )
Ghosting can occur when heavy or dense amounts of ink are printed in one area. This will affect the ink density of another area resulting in unwanted images. RomanPrinting.net assumes no responsibility for ghosting caused by heavy ink coverage or abrupt changes in ink densities called for in the design and layout of a print job.

What are your bleed requirements for print jobs? ( top )
We ask all jobs be set up with 1/8” (0.125) bleeds.

Border designs and placement near edges of printed material: ( top )
With ALL designed material we recommend you leave ¼” (0.25) from all surrounding edges of your printed piece. If you leave less than ¼” (0.25), we cannot be held responsible for unequal borders from top to bottom and from side to side. This is due to the final cutting process in which some “draw” or “slippage” occurs in that cutting process.

When using AOL why can’t I finish my uploads at times? ( top )
If you are using America Online (AOL), please be aware that AOL can limit your inactivity on the web and disconnect you if you are not a current user. AOL considers file uploading as inactivity. You can avoid this disconnection in uploading of files by keeping your AOL e-mail account open at the same time you are uploading your files to us. This should allow you to upload your files without interruption or disconnection.

File uploads – How long will it take? ( top )
Your internet connection speed is the most important variable determining your file upload times. Most browsers have a status bar at the bottom to give you upload progress.

Quotations: ( top )
We are glad to quote custom print projects that are not included on our website matrix pricing. Please feel free to send an email in the contact section, and we will submit your custom quote within 24 business hours or less. A custom quotation not accepted within 30 days may be changed. Prices on standard products within this website are subject to change at anytime.
RomanPrinting.net will quote based upon the accuracy of the specifications it is provided. RomanPrinting.net reserves the right to re-quote a job at the time of submission if the actual submitted specifications are different from those provided for an initial quote. Those who follow our guidelines can be assured of lightening fast turnarounds and the easiest transaction processing in the industry.

Can I combine orders to get better pricing? ( top )
Because we have to process, proof, and place each order individually, we do not allow for orders to be combined for better pricing. When ordering 5,000 each of 2 different postcards, you cannot assume that you are paying the 10,000 piece price.

Can you print jobs that are not offered on your price list? ( top )
Yes, we can print just about anything that is printed on paper. Please submit a custom quote by submitting your request and quote specifications via e-mail.

Color Accuracy and Matching: ( top )
RomanPrinting.net is a GANG RUN printer. This means that jobs are printed on a large sheet with many other jobs of similar paper and quantity aesthetics. We will go to great lengths to match your colors as close as possible to transparencies, photos, or supplied electronic digital layouts that you supply. We view CMYK printed color by industry standards under a 5000K light source on press, but because of the limitations in the gang run printing process, such as the ink needs of other images placed on the same press sheet, we cannot guarantee to match color and density exactly, but print to very pleasing color standards.
We accept no responsibility for color variations between submitted images and the actual artwork or product they represent. Our GANG RUN printing process is highly specialized using highly skilled craftsmen and state-of-the-art equipment to ensure quality is at its finest.

Online PDF SoftProofs: ( top )
Online PDF proofs viewed by the customer on a computer monitor use a color space called RGB. RGB stands for red, green, blue which are the primary colors of light used to display color images on your monitor. Offset printing presses produce full color images using a four color ink process called CMYK. CMYK stands for Cyan (blue), Magenta (red), Yellow, and Black.
RomanPrinting.net prints to a pleasing color standard through the use of standard ink densities. While RGB color may look good on a computer screen or desktop printer, it may not produce the results desired when printed on an offset printing press. This is due to the wide variations in color spaces, technologies, and calibrations of different displays and printing devices.
Online PDF proofs will be posted as follows:
Orders with properly supplied print ready electronic files received by 1:00 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST), will be PDF Proof Posted by 10:30 a.m. the next business day. We must have confirmation (Proof Approval) by 2:00 p.m. that same day, in order to process your order for production and delivery dates to be met. If you do not approve your online PDF proof by 2:00 p.m. PST, then production schedules will change to the next business day, thus delaying your shipment by an extra day.
Orders include ONE FREE online pdf proof. If a client must make changes to their supplied file and the order requires more than one PDF proof each subsequent proof will be $25. If ROMAN PRINTING must do any design work or type changes the cost will be billed at $60 per hour with a $15 minimum. If there is a mistake in the initial pdf proof you receive and it is ROMAN PRINTING's fault the change will be made and a new proof uploaded at no charge to the client.
